Dr. Nelanthi Hewa (she/her) is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Annenberg School for Communication's Center for Collaborative Communication at the University of Pennsylvania.
Hi! I'm a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania, where I work with Dr. Sarah Banet-Weiser. My work is funded by a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) of Canada Postdoctoral Fellowship and by the Center for Collaborative Communication.
My ongoing book project investigates how digital media and the labour conditions of journalists structure sexual violence news reporting. I'm also interested in the platformization of cultural work and how the internet shapes our ideas of the public and the private.
